D3: Aims and Candidate Solutions
In this writeup, you will finalize the initial sketch of your problem and solution by completing the following:
(1) write down the problem statements your team came up with during Aakanksha's tutorial.
(2) based on these problem statements, each student is asked to
individually and independently generate at least 1 use case, by repeating the same "Mapping AI Capabilities" exercise that you did with the fake problem, but this time using your team's problem statements. For each use case, complete the
front and
back of the use case card by mapping
AI capabilities, assessing the use case along the 6 dimensions (i.e., impact, effort, expertise, performance, value and risk), and coming up with 3 contextual factors that matter. Each student should include a screenshot of the front and back of your completed use case card in the notebook, along with a writeup describing your thought process. Together, your team should have at least 5-6 use case cards (screenshots and writeup), one from each team member.
(3) write down (a) the 2-4 ideas that your team has identified during Justin's ideation session and (b) a list of questions that your team anticipate asking the community partners during the upcoming co-creation session in order to populate the GPS tool (see slides).
(4) include any photos that you took (e.g., of any other artefacts you produced while brainstorming, such as each person's crazy 8 sheets) during Aakanksha's and Justin's session, along with captions explaining what are in those photos. These photos will help you tell a story during your demo day presentation.
Submission
D3 should be completed in the team notebook under Week 4.
Due Date is 5pm the day before your next class.
RR1: Research Report Draft (CS698 students only)
By the end of the course, students in CS698 will be producing a research report about AI Transformation Methodologies (see details in the
Deliverables page). To work towards this, students are asked to complete a 2-page draft of the research report, with at least 5 citations and a sketch of all 4 sections based on the problem statement the team has come up with so far. The 4 sections include a literature review, integration plan, proposal of a novel process/instrument for AI transformation work, description of a potential research study for testing this novel process/instrument. The purpose of the draft is so that the instructor can provide feedback on the directions of your research report. Please use this
ACM template for your report.
Submission
RR1 should be submitted in PDF format using
ACM template via LEARN dropbox, and is graded based on completion.
Due Date is 5pm the day before your next class.
