P3: Prepare for Co-Creation

Using what you learned in the Ideation sessions and AI tutorials, each group should prepare the following:

1. Problem overview (under 1 minute). Write a short, focused description of your group’s problem space in the team notebook. At the beginning of the co-creation session, one member in your team will present the problem statement to the entire class in under 1 minute before partners move to tables. Select the team member who will present.

2. Idea slides (under 3 minutes). Prepare up to 5 slides (total) covering one tech (i.e., AI) idea and one non-tech idea, and how each solves your problem. Provide a link to your slidedeck in the team notebook. The tech and non-tech ideas can be very different. At the co-creation session, two students will stay at your table to present and get feedback, while other group members will visit other tables to give feedback. Listen more than you talk, and stay open to partner ideas.

3. GPS questions. Using the tool Justin Chan recommended, prepare questions for partners to answer under each heading. Type them directly in your team notebook.
    ● Good: praise and positives
    ● Problematic: concerns or potential problems
    ● Step-ups: improvements, or ways to reduce problems

4. Ongoing research. Keep gathering evidence through observations, interviews, and literature on the problem and possible solutions. Add it to your team notebook.

Submission
P3 should be completed in the team notebook under Week 5.
Due Date is 5pm the day before your next class.

TC1: Summary of Technical Consultation I (CS497/MTHEL498/CS698 only)

Every CS/Math/Eng student complete two distinct activities in this assignment:
1. Advisee (Client Representative): Represent your own project team in a 30-minute consultation with your project team's assigned Technical Consultation Team (TCT).
2. Consultant (TCT Member): Serve as an external technical advisor for TWO other project teams ("Client Teams").

ACTIVITY 1: Advisee (8 pts)
You are the technical voice for your project team.

(1) Introduce & Schedule (2 pts): Go to your project team's private TC channel (e.g., #tc-tues-team-1 if you are in team 1). Introduce yourself and propose 2-3 time slots for a 30 minute meeting, including a video conferencing link.
(2) Prepare the Report (2 pts): At least 24 hours before the meeting, fill out General Information, Section A and Section B of the technical consultation report (pinned to your project team's tc channel). Ping your assigned TCT in Slack once finished.
(3) Lead the Consultation (3 pts): Host the 30-minute meeting. Present your problem and current solution, invite discussion, address TCT questions. (Encourage your project teammates to attend!)
(4) Reflect & Document (1 pt): Complete Section D of the report (summary of discussion and key takeaways; list the students who attended the meeting).

ACTIVITY 2: Consultant (6 pts x 2 Client Teams = 12 pts)
You and your TCT act as external technical consultants for TWO assigned client teams. Complete the following for EACH client team:

(1) Review & Propose Recommendations (3 pts, done by each consultant): Read Section A and Section B of your client's Technical Consultation Report before the meeting. In Section C, each consultant in the TCT must add a bulleted list of 2-3 concrete technical recommendations, with your name in brackets next to each bullet item (e.g., suggested AI models, app functionalities, system architecture, development frameworks and/or tools).
(2) Attend & Advise (2 pts, done as a group): attend the 30 minute meeting to discuss your recommendations, probe architectural tradeoffs and answer technical questions.
(3) Consultation Reflection (1 pt, done as a group): Work with your TCT members to complete Section E (reflection on the consultation process and outcomes).

Grading Scheme: 20 points (Advisee: 8 pts and Consultant: 12 pts)

Submission
Paste your project team's completed Technical Consultation Report into your team notebook (create a TC1 section under Week 5).
Due Date is 5pm the day before week 7's class (Nov 2/4) (UPDATED).
